Hi All
I'm new to Landy Zone and I'm looking for some help.
My 2003 4.4 V8 L322 has been sat over winter, undriven, unloved and generally ignored, as I have been driving my wifes Freelander 2 due to fuel costs.
It has thrown a sulk and decided to do this "only high beam tantrum".
When you turn on the side lights the seconary high beams come on until you switch the light stalk to high beam then they go off.
When you turn on the main lights the Xenon turns on to dipped and the second high beams are on regardless of the light stalk position.
When you then switch the light stalk to full beam the Xenon goes to high beam as well as the second high beams stay on.
Very difficult to drive at night as you can imagine.
I suspect it's a damp problem as it happend last winter for a short period during a very wet spell. This time it's not going away.
Does anyone have a clue as this could cost a fortune at an auto electical engineers.
I don't know if it's with the light check module or the main Body Electrical Control Module (BeCM).
My sun roof leaks and it has been suggested it may get into the 'A' pillars electrics. I have not found any obvious water ingress, other than the drips from the top light and sun roof control panel.
Thanking you in advance.
A lover of Range Rovers (other than the cost)!

- thrown a sulk - tantrum. Yes, Yes typical RR personality.
But having to drive a Freelander  You poor man.

Sounds like water ingress in A-pillar/footwell. The gurus will know.

Re-post your problem in the RR forum here : https://www.landyzone.co.uk/forum/range-rover.10/

There are plenty of knowledgeable members who will help you in there.
Will see you there sometime

P.s. Use pics to draw their attention ;)
(But not the Freelander ; or they will tease you)

There's nowt wrong with Freelanders. Given the same situation and choice of vehicles most range rover owners would leave the money pit at home and take the reliable Freelander int stead. ;)
