headlight wipers and washers

Hi had my 1999 p38 diesel just over a year now usual problems as everybody else I think but my headlight wash/wipe never worked decided to take a look fuses/relay OK checked wires to wipers both side's been cut stripped and soldered worked OK but no washed checked water bottle and 1 of the pump's was unplugged reattached plug and now they work any body know why they would be disconnected e.g. battery drain any help would be grateful thanks Andy :confused: P.S. sorry about last post pressed enter by mistake.
 
Yea rumour has it.... that it is a possible drain on the battery, so maybe thats why it was disconnected
 
thanks for that will have to see how it goes' I've a heavy duty battery booster in my car all the time anyway thanks again Andy

wipers failing to park causes a drain problem on the L322, not sure that applies to the P38. Washer should not drain the battery unless it runs when it should not.
 
thanks Datatek fingers crossed they should be OK the only thing that worried me was when I joined the wires (with the keys in my pocket) the wipers swiped 3 times but I have found before that a lot of things work on a negative feed thanks Andy
