L322 Headlight removal 2011 L322

I want to remove the o/s front headlight unit to do some repairs to the black plastic casing behind the lens which is cracked in places. Having removed the front grill, the three bolts which hold the headlight unit in place and the electrical connection at the rear, it still seems impossible to pull the headlight unit out as there is not enough space above the bumper to do so. I can't find any help rgarding this on any of the RR forums or on YouTube. Does anyone know how the unit can be removed from the car? Cheers. H.

Is there a plastic tab under the sidelights. If I remember correctly,there's a bit that you have to lift cluster to let headlight go.

Addit: reading around there seems to be a lot of people saying the bumper has to come off on your model. I don't remember that for mine.

Hi Jon, I need to get my 2005 Headlamps out for some much needed pampering so need to remove the bumper also I think. Where are your pages from please so I can get access if possible as they look like the sort I could do with. Many thanks in advance. Tricky.

I signed up to topix, paid, and downloaded everything I could for our car.

This should help, remember its for a 2011 but most is the same.

Hi Tricky , I think your L322 are same as mine, meaning headlamps can come out without removing bumper.
Remove front grill, remove 3 retaining bolts and lift out side lights . I think that is it, been a while.

Addit: Tricky if yours are like mine , don't forget the upper and lower bolts are different sizes. Top bolts are 10mm and lower are 8mm.

Great link thank you, mine is without the wipers on headlamps but I think between yours and Jon’s information I’ll be able to get the job done. I’ll post any info that I uncover. Tricky.
