would series 2a headlamps fit into a series 3...? thanks
i think they would, i believe they are both the same diameter, did ya get a pair of 2a lights, im thinking about putting the series 3 headlights on my outer guard, and where my headlights are now, i will place my spotties there with L brackets.

Tony

ok, they look the same....nah just spotted a trashed 2a out at a farm today and the headlights look alright....so i might see if i can get it for parts!!
not a bad idea there.....see if you can get hold of the front panel and replace it?? or else get the box arrangement for the headlights off....

Sealed beams, which yours should have, are quite cheap, not worth the fannage trying to get rusty screws out to save a few pennies and they might be at the end of their lives too.
All LR sealed beams are the same although I think very early s1 might not be.

i was offered the guards off a series 3 years ago but i didnt bother, its just that the series 2a had a plain outer guard and it needs something to cover that large area, im not bothered using a bull bar i do have a military S3 bar, but it bolts to the existing front galv bumper and is a strong bar solid steel plate but as i said i dont want to use it and end up hitting something hard as that will be the strong point and the load from the object would not do much to the bull bar but instead damage the front guards and spring hangers, i only like to use the front bumper as its sacrificial and gets damaged easy, its better to have a ruined bumper then have a ruined chassis and guards.

oh really they were actually sealed beams, mine has hella light assemblies with h4 globes fitted,
oh thats right the ones i have fitted were a aftermarket to the sealed beams, my dad once said the sealed beams would have a better light as they didnt suffer from internal corrosion of the reflector.

you are right there with the lights they are quite cheap to buy, i think i can get sealed beams for $25 each. which is sort of around 10 pounds.
