HI Guys,

For the first time today, I became a Disco owner. Very happy so far but got a few niggles to sort out. I bought a TD5 S on a 2001 plate. It has the new design headlights and front fogs.

My question is. The headlights are fairly high.. in the cab there is a headlight adjuster knob, but its not working. Any ideas on where to start looking? I dont have an owners manual yet, so am in the dark. What fuses/relays to check? Is there known problems?

Interestingly enough, the front fog lights dont work at all either. Not so urgent, but one of those 'annoying' little itches that I need to fix :D

Any help much appreciated.

Marc

OK, so it appears I am a total n00b :D

The lights were a custom fit. My car had original Discovery 2 lights and someone has fitted the facelift lights. Not a bad job actually, all metal edges protected etc. So, as part of the conversion, it looks like the levelling motors were removed.

Anyone know if they can be re-added?

i can't see why not. just get them fit them and use the Rave wiring diagrams to hook them up, easy

If it's facelift, I'm not sure you can replace the motors - they're built into the light units.

Cheers!

Ah now that's interesting because I heard that somewhere else but couldn't find any reference anywhere else to it.

So, if the motors ARE in the light unit, I wonder what they require to get working? I assume that if the lights are secure and level, then the motors should still function correctly if wired in. Hmmm.

Anyone know if there is an exploded diagram of the facelift light motors... or maybe even a dissection done by someone... Interesting.

I have just finished my light conversion and all working fine, You should be able to connect the old motors wires (i think they are black/red and black/white, the additional black is just an earth and not required) directly to the new lights white and yellow wires, I do not have the pin numbers but if required i can look, you have to repeat this for bot n/s and o/s. Let me know if you need more info

not all headlight are adjustable, there are 2 sets on the market,
look at island 4x4 web site, somehave self leveling some don't, besides you cannot use the old leveling units as the new lights if fitted are built in
