Hi All,

Casing down a lighting issue and seems to stem back (so far) to a brown lead at main lighting switch - It reads battery voltage, right up until I power up with test light instead of meter, and then reads zero volts. Everywhere else seems to have power, including at underseat fusebox - From there I need to get to Header 0287, but don't know where it is? Anyone know please - or point me to list of header locations if such a thing exists..

Will look up my electrical manual to find it, when I can find it in my files.
There you go, some photos in my manual show pics of left hand drive model so it may be on the other side but in same area, (blue header)

Yup - It has red, blue and brown (with blue stripe) cable attached. Could not find 0287 header. However, I pulled the binnacle and behind there was a header with a brown cable with blue stripe, I've spliced into that, connected to the same colour wire going to the light switch and everything working again - all turns off and on as should so fixed thanks

what colour was the header and when you say spliced sound a bit ominous the cable you were having trouble with check for discolouration by or near the crimp
this is usually a sign the cable has powdered inside the sheathing had this several time before on thin wall cables will pass voltage but will not pass current
usually near where the crimp plug/lug is attached or where cable tie has been over tightened

Header was clear - I know now the header I was looking for was blue, but well tucked away behind centre of dash. All seems well now and nothing detected affected by my splicing, it can be easily undone if something transpires I suppose. The original cable was as I said producing battery voltage, but if loaded with just a test light produced nothing at all
