Hello
Got a disco2 td5 and had head gasket failure, usual story quoted about £1200 upwards which I haven't got at the moment. So I decided to have a go a stripping the head off myself to save money and learn a few new skills. Have managed to strip the engine of all the gubbins (technical term for stuff) as far as I can tell it's just the timing chain and fuel lines left this is where I have lost my bottle so it's now been sitting on the drive for the last month like this. Is there any one close to bexhill that wants to do this last bit for a fee so I can send the head of to be tested. It's the wife's horse trailer towing car so my ears are getting chewed off on a daily basis right now HELP!!!!
thanks
Lee

+1 on RAVE, read very carefully, its not like Haynes manuals, RAVE describes in two lines what takes Haynes two paragraphs!
Timing chain stays in place.
Be very careful not to drop anything into the sump via the chain cover.
Bag and label all nuts/bolts/screws/parts as they come off, its very easy to mix them up.
The head bolts should be removed in order, less risk of damaging the head.
Make sure you have a decent range of torque wrenches.
Post questions/pics here, lots of help on hand!
