well after a whole day ive got most of it stripped down, valley gasket was in a terrible state, eventually got the rocker covers off!!!!!

now i gotta get the exhaust manifold bolts undone , given em a little try and they dont want to move,,, who ever thought using these torx bolts was a good idea ?????

more tommorow

got left hand head off this morning, amazing what you can do with the right tools :D:D:D

gasket well and truely blown on this side got half inch gap on the outside of no3 cylinder

Can you not fill the gap with Magic Putty ????

If you have access to Rivnuts and the insertion tool, suggest you remove the old heatshield nuts and replace them with Rivnuts and stainless screws. M5 or M6 would do the job.

heat sheild now gone:D:D

found the next problem......exhaust manifold...... how are you spossed to get to the bottom bolt nearest the bulk head (right hand bank)? cant seem to get the socket into the right place

got it off, mate had a long skinny 12mm socket that done the trick. enuff for today, get the rh head of tommorow, then drop them off at the engineers shop for skimming... rebuild soon...so im sure i will need more help... theres bound to be some wire that i cant remember where it came from.....

ok both the heads are now at the engineers being skimmed, should have them back later this afternoon,,

then just gotta rebuild it,,,

got my heads back he took 8 tho off them as they had warped, going by how easy some of the bolts came out i,m not to surprised.. busy tommorow so starting rebuild on saturday morning..
