I've always used a 1/2 15mm socket and extension and never had any problem.

Might have undone the turbo oil feed but can't remember if I did or not.

depends how tight they are. as jamesmartin says you defo need a 3/8 set for it as it is a bastard to get to just done one myself last week , that one involved a lot of heat to get it off and a reducer so I could put a 1/2 bar on the 3/8 extension

James I love you :D

I would have never figured that out

At this point tonight, all ready to reassemble tomorrow.

Everything has been cleaned, I have removed the injectors, they will be cleaned and refitted with a bit of copper grease and new washers.

I am surprised that it was not really coked up or anything, the valves wiped clean with a bit of thinners. Maybe that's to do with running it on veg oil for most of the past 3 years.

I have used new veg oil when its cheap, but mostly used oil converted to bio-diesel and then its running on 100% and no diesel.

Its all back together but the battery is flat so its on charge now.

Will let you know when she fires up (fingers crossed)

Have you disconnected the power from the injection pump?
If not then start by checking that you're getting fuel, crack off the injector pipes and turn it over on the starter, should get fuel spraying out of them all.

I am very pleased to say its all fixed.

Checked the pump and I had fuel at the injectors, but she still did not fire, so I dug through the garage and found an old tin of easy start, squirted that into the snorkel and still nothing, not even a splutter??

There was however a very strong smell of easy start? Then I spotted the very obvious problem DOH !!!! The bottom hose from the intercooler was not even connected, in our hurry to finish last night it had been missed.

Connected that and she fired straight up, took her for a run and touch wood she is running fine.

Thanks again for all the help on here
