Mine went on Sat morning, just come off of motorway to top of slip road. Conked out, started again, then temp gauge went over half way. Managed to free wheel to layby where on lookin could see a mess!. Gunk in oil, but the cooling fans were still running! Only time they have! Started and drove onto recovery wagon, and off again. So, fingers crossed, no other damage apart from head gasket. This is a 2001 with 108000 on clock, and all original. Don,t suppose that ain't bad going for one of these! Still gunna hurt the pocket though.

When you get it fixed make sure that ....

The head is skimmed.

New Head Bolts & a Multi Layer Steel (MLS) Headgasket are used.

The liner protrusions are correct.

A new water pump, Timing Belt and Thermostat are fitted.
