 Hi, i`ve just bought a 2001 1.8s 5dr freelander. i`ve heard that they have a problem with the head gasket, its done 50,000 miles i dont know if the gasket has been changed. Will i need to get it done or will it be ok.
Any help/ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

The LR MLS gasket is the one to go for Part no. LVB500190.

Do you have a service history for the vehicle?

There is a visual check for the MLS gasket, look for the grey tab above the serial numbers, RHS of exhaust manifold, see attachment

There is also the original gasket Part no RLVQ000090

Lotus or MkIII gasket Part no. RLVB000320
