Sorry meant to say that the first one I was very timid and eventually realised that so long as you start reasonably straight and dont go too quickly the drill bit levels itself same with the tap it ended up perpendicular again going easy and using vaseline to catch swarf and get it out of hole

Thanks for that and as you know I would have given up years ago if not for this forum and have done things that I would have never imagined bloody marvelous will keep you informed
 
Update
Engine back in car not completed yet still have inlet manifold and all the bits to bolt on the hardest bit was getting the passenger side engine mounting to line up but all good so far might get a chance to do a bit later or it is next week afraid my dearly beloved has plans for today you know the fn stuff decorating shopping christmas tress etc :(:(

I'm very sorry to hear that. I hope you recover soon and get back to the important things in life.
Nice one on the coils, another of those things that I've never had to do and I know I'd be twitching at the start.
