Has anyone any feed back on this engine, thinking of putting it in a 200TDI
Defender with an Automatic gearbox, anybody used this engine or have any
info.

I know one of the disco's on LRO's fleet has it in - they speak highly
of it.

I was also talking to Chris Hill at TBR UK the other day about his
disco, he has one in that too and says its excellent.

From what I gather its more of less the same power as a TD5 but all
mechanical like a Tdi. Having your cake and eating it so to speak!

assuming this is the international 2.8 from Brazil, the only objection I
have to it is that I can't afford it.

that website about the brazilian 4x4s which we had the other day has specs
for it: 136 hp, about 266lb ft IIRC.

Austin Shackles. www.ddol-las.fsnet.co.uk my opinions are just that

A 3.0 version is soon to be introduced with a rumoured output of around 160
bhp.

Take care

I've read all the magazine articles and lusted after this as well!

What I wondered is how it would stand with respect to the ARC regulations,
for RTVs and such like. It is basically a Land Rover engine as I understand
it; it's just that it's made in Brazil by a company that are better at
making Land Rover engines...

Anyway, can't afford it.(

No one has mentioned spares. I was led to believe there are significant
parts differences and they are awkward to get is this the case?
