may be a stupid question. i brought new hd flanges for my 2000 td5 90 but when fitted i cant seem to pull the half shaft out far enough to get the c clip on i have put a but in the end of the shaft to help pull but does not want to pull out.do these flanges need longer half shafts or what am i doing wrong.
you can see the hd flanges are almost 25mm deeper than the original has the half shafts got that much play to pull out.

mine is what ever was standard on the td5 havent change the cvs i have rebuilt the hub, new bearings swivel cups discs and calipers but the have shafts and cv were fine and thought i would finish off with some hd flanges

you either got the wrong members or cvs arent pulled through enough ,its usually best to hold them fully home in stub axle when tightening stub axle bolts

would the shaft pull i didnt want to yank to hard or would i need to take the hub off and stub axle and then reassemble with the cv butted to the stub axel.

hi
sorry forgot to thank you for info
when i checked i did have the early thick one. the company i brought it from showed no difference and only sell the thick one and show no second one for the later model.
