Freelander 1 Hawkeye

Hi,
With Hawkeye, can I see what fobs/key chips are held in the system (Freelander 1, 1.8 2005)?
Have been reluctant to go into that part of the Hawkeye system for fear of wiping out what is currently there and there appears to be little literature on how to use this specific area of Hawkeye.
Any help appreciated, as always.....

It will tell you how many fobs are linked to the FL1. Also let you add or remove them. I used it to add a 3rd fob to mine when one was playing up. My hawkeye was the original type.

Does this just relate to the fob (door/alarm locking etc). or also to the transponder (located in the key not the fob)? If so do you have any instructions as to how to access it in Hawkeye.

It will allow you to add or remove fobs and transponder keys. I probably have a video of doing it. I will have a look.

Took a while to find the info I had on this. Was about 9 years ago when I did it. I added a second hand fob to my 2001 v6. It came from another Freelander. The Hawkeye calls them 'plips'.

When you go into the remote fob programming option it will give you a warning about being qualified or similar. Continue past this. It will also ask if you have all fobs present. Reason being it will ask you to press the unlock button on each fob, 8 times, to link the existing and new (to the Freelander) remote fobs you want programmed to it. It's self explanatory from the options when it takes you through it.

It will ask you to press the unlock button 8 times on one of the fobs. When it's seen enough presses the horn will give a short blast. Continue through the menu. If it doesn't see enough and you continue though the menu, it will advise it didn't detect a remote fob and ask if you want to have another go. If it's seen a remote fob it will ask if you have another to add. Remember, you have to add new AND existing remote fobs. If you have more remote fobs to connect then select yes and link them in the same way by pressing the unlock button 8 times when instructed by following the menu. Easy to do but I can appreciate if you haven't seen it done before or been told how to do it then it can seem quite daunting. Took a few goes on some of my fobs. Not sure why. The batteries were ok. It worked in the end. I kept going through the press until I had linked them all.

Can't find the video I took on key programming. I've filmed loads of stuff with only a fraction ending up on youtube. Not all files got named with the content at the time.

Key programming goes though a similar process. From memory... each key you have needs to be put into the ignition and turned to switch the electrics on, then off. The Freelander will detect the key and 'remember' it. The keys are identified individually. If you have two keys, it will be able to tell you if it's key one or two you have in the ignition. You can disable existing keys linked to yer Freelander if you no longer have them. You can also add new keys anorl.
