I pulled my engine out and changed the clutch, a helpful mate helped, after putting it all back together for some reason the alternator is not charging, but the alternator is working I checked it, so it's got to be down to wiring surely, I have a feed wire on the starter motor and a smaller earth wire above that, I have oil sensor wire on, I have earth strap on attached to starter motor fixing, I have brown wire to alternator on top most fitting next to that I have slightly smaller brown wire attached to screw fitting on right of that, below that and a double wire in white one of which is the suppressor, I have water sensor fitted, then wire to fuel pump, on battery terminals I have one earth wire and large red wire and smaller brown wire on positive, Engine will start and run fine but is not charging, Help please

You have missed out the model of disco, does the alternator have an output as you say "the alternator is not charging but the alternator is working"
So what are you doing how are you testing it, putting a volt meter accross the battery terminals and looking for the charge voltage?, the 300 series have a 100amp fuse between the alternator and battery so if that has blown there's no charge voltage at the battery.

Apologies I forgot to put in 200tdi. I have now rectified the problem myself, many thanks for your help.

As I said I had a mate giving me a hand, he took the near side and removed wires from starter motor, and only put one back the other was behind the engine.
