so I'm replacing the track rod ends on my motor and bought some parts off ebay.

so I follow busters how to, get to fitting the new ends.

RHS goes on perfectly.

LHS: not so well.....doesn't want to go on and when it does go on, it feels like its cross threading

this is the part I bought for the left hand side:
eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

The threads appear to the be the same size and spacing....so why won't it go on the track rod?

that problems sorted now, I have 2 right handed threads it seems.

New problem: I fitting the track rod back onto the motor now, go to tighten it up and now the bolt is just spinning when I tighten it up. What could be wrong with the track end to make it do that?

This job has now taken me the thick end of 6 hours!

Tap the bottom of the balljoint wiv an hammer (Don't muller it) to make it wedge into the housing more

cheers, got it fitted, just a crow bar under the sway arm and pushed down on it joint, then tightened it up.

not the best job to do in the snow, freezing now, time for a brew!
