i keep seeing , for sale on fleabay, cubby box damper and petrol flap catch.
my cubby box does not have any damper or any fittings for one that i can see? it doesnt even have cup holders?
my petrol flap works well but i cannot see anything like what is shown for sale? so am i missing some things?

The cubby box damper is for the cup holder and lid to lift as the holder makes it heavier and just falls down if not held. I replaced my damper 2 weeks ago and works great. As for the fuel flap thingy, the pic of it on ebay is a lot bigger than the actual clip itself. Its about the size of your little finger tip (unless you got fat fingers) and holds the flap shut. If you aint got one the flap will stay open.

so: with no cup holders, i do not need a damper.true?
and seeing that the flap stays closed and works properly, i do not need another clip then?

Not entirely sure if they have a damper without the cup holder, have a look on the driver side of the lid underside to see if there are fixing locators, if there is you can fit one. The flap retainer is located on the leading edge of the flap and locates the pin that holds it shut. If yours is staying shut, shouldn't need replacing.
