An earlier thread of mine lamented the loss of £75 of Shell's finest motion potion.
Replacement of the failed rubber tube between the filler neck assembly and the spigot pipe on the tank resolved the leakage but now I have a different problem.
I cannot easily fill the tank with petrol.
Anything more than just a trickle from the petrol pump and the pump does the auto-shutoff thing.
Putting 30Litres in the tank takes me at least 10 minutes and many. many resets of the pump-handle.
I cannot fathom out "why". All that was replaced was a straight bit of rubber tube.
All help/ideas appreciated.

TIA Dan.

I have tried all manner of petrol-pump outlet positions; all in, part in, upside-down etc. etc. But none of them allow more than a trickle down the old-gal's throat.
Last Rangie never, ever had a problem guzzling gas. Very Odd indeed.
Tried a different pump? Different garage?

What vent is this, pray tell?

If the pump clicks off it’s because fuel comes up to the nozzle.
There is a vent in the tank if it’s not venting, the fuel will come out fast enough to fill the filler neck.

do you have rave or workshop manual? Search fuel tank filler neck, I am sure it’s behind the wheel arch liner.
