a mates got a harmon kardon subwoofer unit, with cd multi changer attached to the bottom , i can get if i want

is it easy/possible/worthwhile , to fit to a p38 that has never had one in ?

i do have a multi changer in the boot, (on the right side not left) , but do not/never used it

but just wondered what would be involved in fitting and getting the unit working ? and would anything else need to be removed from the truck it was removed from ?

or is its not worth it

thanks

what details of your car p38 ???? year- type - etc etc also lhd or rhd ? and lastly what make of existing cd changer do you have fitted ???? then perhaps we can help you ,, cheers mozz

thanks moz, mines a 1996 DSE diesel RHD

i have a non oem (kenwood) cd milti changer in the right hand side of the boot , the speaker unit was removed from the left side, of funnily enough a same year car as mine

the mulkti changer ive never used, its wired in (but not connected to my stereo) , but soon as i got the car i swapped the kenwood head unit for a new one with ipod, and always used that

im not fussed about the cd changer working, but just wondered if the subwoofer unit was useable with my head unit and speakers etc for that extra bass- i have no idea if the harmon kardon unit can be wired to that like a normal sub ?

also, i have an amp, prev owner fitted, in the right hand side of the boot, thats wired in and working, with 2-6x9 speakers

if its hasstle i wont even bother, was just an enquiery to see whats involved

cheers

Very doubtful as it sounds like your car doesn't have the wiring for the HK set-up. If it had I would have thought that whoever fitted the changer, amp etc. would have re-used it or followed the same route for fresh wiring in which case it would all be on the left hand side. If your current two 6x9s are still working surely they can provide enough bass?

+1 agreed dogsy , you need to check lhside remove side panel and have a good look there should be the main wirring loom in there and possibly an amp and subwoofer ??? they've probably run new wiring on right either from ignition or becm .. and if you don't really know what your doing then LEAVE it alone cos believe me its a minefield ... hope this helps :crazy_driver::crazy_driver:mozz
