what I really was going to ask has any one had anything to do with the GAP IId tool as this looks a very
good tool to have in my Glove box ,I Have only got to stop for coffee three more times and I have paid for it ???

Had one for years. Brilliant tool on the larger LRs, although sadly it's lacking in ability on my current FL2.
Still wouldn't be without it though.

Thanks for your reply I have watched a u tube movie on it enabling phone bluetooth is this correct ?
mine says no phone fitted but its got the module and in good condition I just think its not turned on
in software of car ?

It will say no phone fitted if the phone has not been paired with the car. If you do a search for bluetooth devices with the ignition on do you see one called landrover?

Hi
In answer to you reply done it several times with ignition on with different phones and it will not pair
as it does not show anything that resembles my car ,but phone picks up my blue tooth tele from living
room and i am 25 yards away ??

Hi once again
after some time I have finally got my range rover sorted and passed its mot
now i want to refine some little things ,ie in car mobile phone my 2005 4.4
bmw petrol Vouge there is some sort of connection or docking station on arm rest
box but nothing like my phone connector,my phone as blue tooth facility and I wondered
what I need to make it work, I assume there must be a receiver somewhere with it having
the docking for a phone can anybody assist many thanks

Can I just go back to start. When you say arm rest box, do you mean cubby box? If so, this being the older L322, I think you might be looking for something that isn't there.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but in the early l322 , the phone was specific to the vehicle. It then docked into the cubby device. This then set it all up. It's more a wired, rather than bluetooth set up. So bluetooth won't show up, no matter how long you look for it.
You could give your local, friendly, specialist a call, and ask them to check your full spec. Then you will know for certain. :) DSC08831_grande.jpg

you are correct in what you say been on to dealers check spec as per build all RR after 2004 came with cubby box
wired phones as an optional extra but was still fitted with blue tooth and somewhere in cars software you can enable
or disable it, allthough the connections for phone in cubby box is there it does not need the phone as it's fitted a blue tooth
module and should be supported as per my conversation with main dealers

Mine is also a 2005 with nokia module in the armrest and bluetooth, I have just tried my diagnostics but it is struggling to connect to the phone module. As you say you may need to take it to the dealer or find a local independent with the correct diagnostic tool.

Yes but there is no speech anymore. Not sure if that is because the module needs a software update or if it's just broken. One of the pins broke off on the circuit board so I replaced it with an unused one but still no speech.

Had all this in mine, from what I could gather bluetooth only worked with phone in cubby, took it all out mine and made the phone cradle into extra storage ( something else I`v done @dwarfer ) changed the bluetooth unit to a later one and now my mobile phone book pops up on the screen (I leave bluetooth switched on on my phone so car picks it up after a few seconds) and the steering wheel buttons scroll through phone book if I need too.

I also removed the cradle but the bluetooth still pairs to my phone. Maybe @oldduffer needs to remove the cradle for the bluetooth to fire up?

Just tried it again with a Samsung and an iphone with slightly different results. Both have no speech but can make and receive calls i.e phone rings and can be answered. However, if a call is made from the iphone the call drops on the headunit (Samsung does not) but call stays on the handset. If the call is made from the dialpad on the headunit with the iphone the call does not drop.

Display starts with "phone not fitted"

After pairing

Dont like to say it @oldduffer but have a wander over to fullfatrr forum phone problems have been covered quite a bit (bit like p38 eas on here) on there.

I suppose phone not fitted could apply to wired or bluetooth, if you were near me we could have swapped modules and see what happens. If you know someone closer to you it may be an option.

Hi backinblack
well he did say it's got a bluetooth module so I assume yes why he did not go into car software and check
that it was enabled ill never no cost me £60 to tell me what I already knew, thanks

Just an update on hands free ,sent my blue tooth module away to be tested to a very nice and knowledgeable guy Adrian Wiggins in Bolton he went through it and proved it was all working as it shouldshould, returned it back asap now all that is required is to make sure blue tooth is turned on in the software of my car which I will do when my new GAP iid tool arrives will keep all updated

Yes I spoke to Adrian a while ago as he's not too far from me and very helpfull. Did he update the software for you as well as testing it?
