I was having trouble with doing new shoes disks and pads I did one side and went great. got to the other side and the new shoes would not come together for me to put the disk on. I took off the cover to the handbrake handle and no sign of any type of handbrake reset to loosen the cable. After a long time of head scratching I found the culprit. the spring at the top of the shoes wasn't in tension so nothing to pull the shoes together. I have a 6series bummer and did an axle swap that came with all the brake shoes and I saved all the springs and adjusters. A spring from this was slightly smaller but great to use in the Rangie. So all's done and the moral of the story is to order new springs when doing the brake shoes
