Hi, I was just wondering whether anyone else has the same problem I have with my handbrake. When I release the handbrake after it's been pulled on I have to physically push it to the off position.

This is where the question i'm asking comes into place. Should the handbrake spring back to the off position or do you have to physically push it back towards the floor?

If it is supposed to spring back how can I solve the problem of it not springing back? Is it to do with the mechanical workings inside the drum itself or is it to do with the cable or something else for that matter? I have a defender 90 200tdi 1991.

Thanks Terra Dog

my dad when he drives my defender just pushes it down but he doesn't seen to think its a problem, guess its just one of those things you need to live with. (1995 Defender 110 300TDi)

terra dog they wont drop as they catch in the teeth and the bottom tooth is near wear the hand brake sits when off, so i guess you do have to push it all the way down other wise its still going to locate in a tooth, but mines not stiff at all if i hold the botton in it will drop with no assitance from me

but if yours is working etc i wouldnt mess with it mate:D
