handbrake on light playing up

warning lights staying on until i drive a few miles if i mess with the handbrake it goes off,i took the rubber cover off the handbrake lever and i can see the cable running via a tube,i sprayed this with plus gas that helped a bit but its not lubricating fluid like wd40,are they prone to sticking here or do i need to take the drum off for butchers?

switch is under the gaiter. it's really basic. pull off gaiter, and test the switch by pushing it in and out

adjust if needed

sorry should have said but forgot the lever springs back slightly as well,making me think its more a cable issue than switch

ah right, yeah could be the cable being stiff.. isn't that light also linked to the level of brake fluid too?
