Hi,

Can anyone advise me on how to adjust my handbrake cable on my '94 p38. The handbrake now only holds when lever is fully up, so I am thinking there must be some play in the cable!

I have searched and searched but cant find a thing on how to adjust!

Thanks

Mikey

dont just go adjusting the cable, the correct way is to adjust the brake shoes first so theres minimal travel between the shoes and the drum. you will probably find that by adjusting the shoes the cable will not need adjusting. to adjust the shoes the adjuster is a 17mm spanner size bolt that is in between the transfere box and the brake drum in a reses on the back plate, turn it untill the drum locks up then knock it back by half a turn.

Ok i know what you mean now, the SII has the same set up, i just did mine after this post, i guess you tighten the 2 nuts up clockwise? didn't seem to make much difference tbh, but its up to 3 notches anyway, and holds it fine
