Well it holds but lever is vertical so Def needs adjustment. Why does it need to be jacked on one wheel

it helps to be able to turn hand brake drum whilst adjusting shoes so you can feel when its locked then adjusted back just enough so that shoes clear and drum can be turned freely ,you cant turn drum with both rear wheels on the ground none needs to be jacked up

and when you turn the drum, if you get oily streaks on your hands it may be an early sign of another oil leak ...

this is where you'll find the adjuster ^^^, the handbrake is basically, like a drum brake assy on the back of the gearbox ...

Assume the drum can be turned by hand. So am I correct in saying turn anti clockwise to tighten then once tight Un do until is move able then check by applying handbrake. Reference the cable how comes I need to adjust that. I take it I think tighten the cable once the hub is sorted?

clockwise will adjust shoes towards drum till locked ,clockwise to then free off till clear ,then adjust cable if needed ,anti clockwise will shorten cable ie reduce clicks needed

So I can just reduce the clicks by tightening then see if all is well adjust cable if needed. Lovely stuff makes sense. It currently only locks on at full vertical pull so yes last click it needs a little give haha
