Hi it's me again. I have got a kind of torch in a pocket just under the front passenger dash board of my Range Rover L322 and I have no idea what it is. It looks like a T V remote, but it isn't.

Can anyone inform me what it is and how it works ?

Never looked on mine, but BMWs do come with a handheld torch in the glove box which plugs into a charging socket.

Not sure what model you have but my 09 has a venture cam in the glove box next to the CD changer.
Could also be for DVD system if it has one fitted, or fuel burning heater remote if DIESEL.

Just a few ideas???????

if its green its yer venture cam, push the land rover logo to switch it on you should get a few red lights come on if its working,if lights come on go to the off road setting on the touch screen you will see it there, if working your ugly mug will show on your screen if you look at the lights:D.rtfm if you got it,it should have a holder and a window suction cup so you can place it around the car but nearly always missing.batteries can be replaced if found to be not working but its a bit of a faf to do easy enough tho.

Thanks for the sensible replies, and yes it is green, and when I pressed the Land Rover logo a green halo lit up around the logo and when I pressed it again 6 red lights lit up.

I got Off road program up on my sat nav screen but that only had a compass showing. No ugly mug.

Any more suggestions please ?

right then,
so it works thats good, when you press the hard key for the off road screen you should see a picture off the chassis and a small screen in the top right hand corner with 3 soft keys under it,from the left v/cam, chassis and compass, push the v/cam button the screen will go fuzzy( like you have no signal on your tele)now push the land rover logo on the v/cam look at the end with the lights and you will see something horrible on the screen:D
in your book pack look in the one called driver information system if you got one that is.

Hi,
If you havent figured it out already, it is definitely your venture cam. it talks to the TV in the AV system, it has a suction cup attachment , so that , believe it or not you can hang it off the front of the bonnet, so you can see the drop off - or over a front wheel arch to check that your wheels are straight ahead when you are in the really greasy stuff or in deep ruts. handy for newbies practicing. Mine has never been out of the glovebox since it was demonstrated for me. I suspect it would fall off with a decent bang.

I can dig out the instructions if you like.

Cheers,

Richard.
