On a return trip from South Wales the winscreen wiper decided to stop at an angle of 45 degs.
Stripped assy & got it moving again thanks to WD40 on the spindle,
relay works (clicks on) but motor now keeps blowing the fuse.

Can I reset the motor?
The whole assy is £110+
Is it worth using parts from a scrap Disco 300tdi?

The last time I striped down a wiper motor the gear wheel inside was made of a fibre material and not metal so the fibre teeth had broken away and jamed.

Have the motor out and look inside the gearbox to see if any thing has jamed. I have assumed that wiper motors can still be taken apart.

No problem with non-safety parts from a scrap vehicle u will save some money but make sure they are fit for the job and u can get a refund if not.

When you say it stopped at 45 degrees, were you able to get it back to park. I am just wondering if you have the linkage set at normal but the motor is still at 45 and jamming.

Can you try it with the linkage off, and give the motor a little bit of a help to get going.
