my disco's gutter has a form of sealant in it can anyone recommend how to, if possible, replace it as it is very dry and has a fair few cracks in it that i believe are letting water inside as i have temporarily sealed them with clear silicone but want to be doing a proper job of it if possible.

Warm it and scrape it out with a curved scraper. then replace with Sikkoflex oreverbuild Puraflex 40.

Whilst your at it check below the gutter for signs of the roofline rotting thru. It's a common source of leaking into the rear of the vehicle. But is also very difficult to spot unless you search for it.
