Gutted!!! Any thoughts??

Thats an idea Trewey I'll take the Transits to a Landy dealer instead of Vospers!;)

I was told by my local landy specialists that the computer plug thing they use would be different for transits and defenders, so I don't know if they'd be able to work on it.

Anyway keep us updated, all of you... You've scared me with what seems like a pretty annoying buy common problem :(.

Well as it happens the previous owner had put a larger intercooler on (which apprently had some naf welds) and FP the map was not standard so they uploaded a standard map, I have done 70+ miles today mixed driving i.e motorway, city / traffic and it feels much better and no limp mode.:) off to the south of France soon 600+ miles to cover in a day so will keep you posted

Please do, I've had this prob for two months now, tried loads....no joy will try software update, see how it goes
This seems a massively common problem, but all the forums fail to have the final solution written down, I've been scouring the Internet read thousands of pages on both transit forums and landy forums so will try this and hope to god it works out :)

Got the same problem with a Ford focus Tdci, cuts out all the time ! Cleaned out EGR valve, and she ran for a day, then went on the blink again. Waiting to have new valve fitted as either valve stuck in either open or closed position. Pain in the arse for sure as it could be several things in reality!

Hang on before you put a new EGR in I changed mine the whole unit, total waste of money made no diff
Try Trewey's advice first :)

How you getting on with new mapping? :)

Really good so far fingures crossed she feels much smoother (as can be expected for a defender!) i have done 202 ish miles and has not missed a beat.

I am feeling a bit more confident that i will actually make it to the S.France on Sunday

How about you any developments?

Just got mine back, remapped, I've not driven far though, but crossing everything, seems it was 2007-2009 models that have the glitch, was talking to a landrover fella earlier he'd had a chat with an AA guy who'd had the same prob with five out of his twenty transits, took them ages to get to the bottom of it but remapping helped apparently....... Crossing fingers toes legs arms :D:D

Sorry to hear that, best of luck

Had mine remapped, and fault is still there, going to change hoses to inter cooler and turbo for silicon ones as mine are super soft could be collapsing under load. If that doesn't work going to try remapping once more see if it works again with different software to what they used on the last occasion.
Will keep you updated :)

Right after software updates and remaps to no avail a fault code has finally appeared with a fuel regulator so waiting on that to be done today fingers crossed!
What I've had done sofar:
MAF
New EGR
Software update from auto logic
Samco silicone hoses to turbo and intercooler
Software made a little difference in smoothing the power loss out but didn't completely solve
Hoping fuel regulator will help :)

Just to throw my hat in, I've had two brand new 110's (because they keep getting nicked) and both have been fine, however we have a 57 plate 110 and transit at work which the private company we use to maintain them (Babcock formerly Lex) messed about with the ECU's on to improve fuel economy. They are now the most economical vehicles in our fleet as they are forever in the workshop.

By this logic I recon it's the remapping that buggers them, if it was the way to go surely LR would have done it in the first place - hence why I only add things I can attach with a hammer and socket set!

Replace that modern lump with all its electical wizzardry with a TDI then be happy. Simples

I'm with you on this!
Got said modern lump back worse than before...how the fuel reg change has been ballsed up Christ knows, but I've more flat spots that a wall and used over 1/4 tank for the balmy amount of...25miles!!!!
Less than happy....she's going back this morning

Finally have Rosie running again!!!
After much resistance I got my garage to send her to a main dealer by which point power loss was so severe she was borderline a dangerous drive.
Here's what finally fixed her:

'genuine' landrover software update
Fuel pressure valve
Fuel metering valve
Recalibrate fuel pump
This combination did the job and I'm no longer nutting the steering wheel with massive losses of power!

Previously had changed EGR, inter cooler and turbo hoses and MAF and auto logic software update (none of this worked!)

:D:D:):)
