So, having had my 1998 rangey for 4 days, there are a whole list of issues that have surfaced. This morning, it was 'kneeling' down on the front offside, it took 15 minutes for it to set itself to the correct ride height, the hissing I have just heard suggests that the air suspension on the front nearside is failing......time to get it replaced!

As nice as it is listening to the burble, and it is nice.....the Harmon Kardon is very funky, the only problem here is that the display on the head unit does not work.....it just annoys me, the unit otherwise functions perfectly! Some of the switchgear illumination has failed, those behind the ventilation control panel and the fog light switches and clock, is it right that these units simply pull out and I can then replace the bulbs? Any tips please.

Finaly the rear upper hatch struts have failed spectacularly...I have the head ache to prove it! Take it these just bolt off and on again when the replacements arrive!

Oh yes, and definately finally for now....how easy is it to replace the door locks on the front so that the car locks and opens from the fob and the interior lights work?

They may all point and laugh at me.....but I don't care cause my rangey rides on air...well...three corners do anyway!

Don't hang about. That leaking airbag (you have checked that the connection isn't leaking, have you?) will quickly kill your compressor. No compressor = no suspension on any corner.

I believe that it's a Clarion unit. If it is Clarion will repair it and even add an ipod input if you want.

nothing simply pulls out on a P38. To get to the HEVAC (heater control) yopu start in the cubby box.

Yes, but you might want to check the wire ropes on the lower section whilst you're there. They corrode quite spectacularly.

What makes you think that it's the locks? If the system works on the key, but that's another thread, or in your case maybe a search of previous threads?

Welcome to the all consuming hobby that is P38 ownership.

Wow....thanks everybody!!!! Between my loopy Springer Spaniel, an 8 year old and a 5 year old, oh yeah, and the wife.....looks like I'm busy!!!!!.....hehehe!!!!!

Welcome to P38 marriage, it will cost you but with love!!

I have a couple of Labs, there is so much to eat in a Range rOVER !!

Lots of info on this site and lots of help too. Do a search of the forum, you will be amazed. Hope you can swing a spanner or two as that helps too. And don't be afraid of the p38 its just bolts and thingies.

Dead easy. Usually cheaper to buy rear ones and then swap the motors in the actuators over. They aren't soldered. They just clip in and out.

While you have the actuators out you might want to disable the superlocking too!
