Both my series and my 90 have serious rot in the footwells
( my 110 doesn't currently have any )
currently the series is in the yard for some TLC
and entire front end is off it for various jobs

And it set me wondering if I could make GED panels and bolg them in all be it with any stiffeners etc on botton half of the foot well

It would be ok on
my off road series as a trial but wondered if it would pass an mot
after all there fibre carbon and grp cars available

No problem at all, exactly the same way as you can have grp wings etc, on a landy the seperate chassis means you can chop n change the body quite easily, hence the reason the body counts for no points. you can drive a grp kit car at the end of the day..

however you should inform the insurance as it is no longer standard which may cost more than a steel footwell repair in the long run

Cheers Steve

My insurance brokers used to me 90s on it's 3rd engine since it left RAF
but extra insurance and tax on a road going toy beats loading it onto my mates recovery truck to go to out once a month fir a 50 mild round trip
