I was having trouble with my series 2 over the last couple of days, when I switched on the ignition system the 'ready' light wasnt lighting up and the electric fuel pump wouldnt turn on. Finally tracked the fault back to the ignition system switch or the positive wire (to this switch) from the battery - has anyone else had any trouble like this? I fixed it by swapping around and using the heater switch as the ignition, which sent power to the appropreate places. Cheers for your thoughts

Switches can be quite a pain when they get worn, causing intermitent spark ect ect, do ya have another?, i have one in the garage here:p, Pm me if ya in need of one!. Yours has a holden repower, and has an electric fuel pump, series 2&3's had mechanical pumps at the side of the block, running off the camshaft, (series 1's had electric fuel pumps i think???) Just sounds like its been wired up wrong at some point? At least you managed to sort your problem out!:)

Thanks for that jackual, No worries about the switch, Thanks for the offer though :). I can get a new one from super cheap or repco easily enough. Yeah the wiring of the fuel pump is a bit on the hairy side, wires twisted together etc, gonna have to get my tools out and have a good couple of days of playing around
