Hello Everyone, I'm TJ I've had the pleasure of driving Landys before but they were always someone else's (All above board promise lol)

I've now gone and swapped my Merc CLK320 (51 Plate) for a 2002 (52) Land Rover Freelander 2.0 TD4 with the BMW engine not the rover one. Some may thing this a daft idea but hopefully you more enlightened Landy owners will agree I made the right choice.

Only issue is I've had it 4 days and suffered my first issue. The dreaded blocked Crank Breather!!! Took apart the engine covers and I kid you not all the pipes etc are full of black sludge resembling cake crumbs after a wrestler has jump on your black forest gateau.

Steam cleaned out all the pipes, air box, turbo dump valve etc and damn they must way half as much now.

Run a couple oil cleaners around it with an oil change in between each and now on 5w30 Full Synthetic Oil with new filters and the cyclone crack breather filter upgrade so I don't have to worry it'll get knackered again.

Anyway if anyone here has any further suggestions of things to check on a 2002 Freelander with no firm service history (After this I probably wouldn't have believed it anyway) please let me know. I love this motor and want it in as good a condition I can get it. Oh already has 5 brand new mud and snow tires so that was a bonus.

Thanks TJ
