Broke the first rule of Green laning saturday and thought i'd have a little play on way home from work in Thetford Forest..... and yes I got stuck!!!!!

If it wasnt for a fellow Landy man 40 mins later breaking the same rule I still be there...

DONT GO GREEN LANING ON YOUR OWN!!!!!!!!

I frequently go greenlaning on my own, but I always make sure I have my Tirfor in the back, a spade and a mobile phone. Also, if I am not sure of the route ahead, I will get out and have a look before proceeding.

I did that a few years back. After a long walk home (15 miles) to get a mate i desided best go with the right kit if i'm on my tod. Thank fook I am better equipped now though. Mobile phone, map, winch fitted, ground anchor sledge hammer for the pins and a shovel. But I am after a trifor as there more employable than the winch on the front.

I often go alone, and I often get stuck ... I don't pussy-foot about much ..

.. but I have the kit and know how to use it to get myself out .. ;)

Mostly ...

When I once got stuck in the mud, I used a hi-lift jack as a winch... I needed to set it over four times...lucky me, that there were trees around. Center difflock also helped.
But yes, have ground anchor and winch will be safer.
