could definitely do with some buddies as I'm a total novice

that's great thank you for the links...
there's so many 4x4s round here I'm surprised there's not more info on the area (but then again most of them are very shiny and have car seats in the back)

im new aswell we can mess up together lol but I know its best to double up for getting stuck I will say lots of big puddles today :p

I have the updated list from surrey council im wondering about one as the restriction has ended but new rules about 1.5m width and 2m leangth restictions

absolutely will! For my health as much as the rules, the last thing I wanna do is get stuck

A man after my own heart! :) Not much wrong with my elf. But I would regard getting stuck as totally unprofessional, and frankly uncool. :(
Wouldnt want to get mud splashed on my nice sunglasses with all that winching or anything! :D
Surrey man, you would be discerning, although I mean that more cricket than 4wd related! ;)

I am being tourmented about the off road capability of my freenlander so im looking forward to testing it on a pay and play after some greenlining getting used to the car. im also a horsey person so rules are always there to be followed

Ability and experience of the driver is mcuh more important than the vehicle. Tyres make quite a difference if it is muddy! :)

looking for off road tyres and wheels atm so I can swap when needed. mr s1 I don't want scratch it ether lol it has a rare paint job on it and i wouldn't respray it lol
