Heres a pic of the interior/gauges. Don't you just love those gauges ? :)

Ahh, Thats why I love Landies! Even just looking at the gauges you know its going to be a rugged, tough mud trekker :D

And does anyone know what that N button on the dash means ? I thought it was for the transmission but its a manual. Could it have been an auto originally ?

It looks like the choke but if its an efi it shouldn't have a choke and where the choke control (if they had one) went on the carb models I've no idea. Its years since I've had to use a manual choke, but if she fires up £50 is a bargain.

Nice one mate you have rearly got a bargin there I thaught mine and and the other halfs one was a bargin at £800 keep us updated with progress good luck.

You are one seriously lucky man. Even if it turns out to be shot mechanically it's still worth more as bits. Got a funny feeling this one will work out for you or at least be worth repairing.
Well Done.

show a picture of this N button, unless you mean the choke switch/lever. as already said i dont know why it has a choke on it as its an efi

A quick question. Should I check the current alternator before fitting the new one ? I'm pretty sure its dead but I guess I'll try. If its ok I'll keep the alternator as Range Rovers always have bad alt's.

I test them too

And its fine! :D

I can't wait to get the new brake disks, pads and lines today so I can go for a sneaky run in it! Just plainly to top the petrol up... Of course! Nothing to do with the monster of a V8 under the bonnet making me want to get onto an empty straight road... :D

Heres some pics of the parts before I get to work fixing Christine (Range Rover  )

Sorry, no line pics!

Now I really gotta go! It's a 1 hour job AT LEAST so I better get going before I get so tempted to drive it I go with no brakes!

Just picked up on your post. Out of interest the EFI system was introduced, for the Vogue, in Oct '85 (I had one reg. in that same month) but your pics. of the dashboard layout, in particular the radio location, would indicate an earlier model year. The radio was moved to the centre console also in Oct '85 (for the '86 model year) & if your 'N' button query relates to the one above the radio(?) then it's the choke!

Here's a couple of pics of mine, it's an '86 efi, had it over a year now and still love every time I start it up, especially with the 3 inch stainless exhaust.:D:D:D

currently off the road as the rear brakes keep going soft, I've replaced the master cylinder, bled the system, checked for leaks (none) but they're still soft, any ideas would be appreciated.

sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread just love the old rangies:)
