Hi all,

My 2003 Disco has an issue......but it's sporadic.

The rear end will drop with no pattern or reason, it did it whilst driving last week too!

It will be fine for days, then all of a sudden, it will drop its rear down, this can be when it's just left over night, or when out shopping.

I have raised it up with the "off-road" lift button, whilst checking the Air-springs with soapy water for a leak, only once did the O/S/R 'spring blow any bubbles, I did the same with it at it's normal ride height with out any conclusive results.

The Air-springs are the originals, it's done over 95K.

It will also drop if it's being or been loaded with luggage.

Any help will be appreciated as I don't wanna spend money replacing the Air-springs if they are not the problem.

Check your air lines and air bags with soapy water mix useing a spray bottle. Also check all electric connectors and take apart and clean up good then use a little grease on the connectors and refit. and check load sensor's and make sure they are clean.

Road grim and dirt will raise hell with then. Also do a goggle search of 03 disco air suspension failure and this will talk you through it.

Good luck:D

only once did the O/S/R 'spring blow any bubbles,.

They have the ability to seal themselves, if it leaked once it'll do it other times too...and using the car this way u are risking to lose the compressor ... IMO at that mileage u can replace them both without remorse

These are are service replaceable items....every five years or so...where did you think the bubbles came from....wasn't this a clue....so many threads on here for air springs...I am amazed you haven't worked it out yet..but TWO new air springs and some new clips would be a great investment.

Thanks everyone for the constructive replies.

I posted in here, because I couldn't make the O/S/R Airspring reproduce any bubbles after the one and only time it did it........so I started to doubt it was that at fault, I have read about them failing, but there are other components I may or may not have needed to consider, (SLS ECU, Sensors, Compressor...).....thats why I asked.

I was 98% certain it was a airspring issue, but just wanted to make sure there was nothing else specific to my cars symptoms.

Thanks again!
