Well, after a long time waiting, I finally got myself some new mud tyres.

After a lot of deciding I ended up with the Cooper Discoverer STT pro's that have only just been released.

First impressions are very good, as nice road maners and actually very quiet - the '2 and 3' pattern they have done must work.

Haven't used them off road yet, but will let you know when I do.

A big thumbs up to Avalon Tyres in Glastonbury as they worked extremely quick and efficient, as I had my current BFG A/T's put on another set of Alloys that will go onto the 300 tdi I have just bought

Glad I went for 265/75/16's and not 85's as they look just right in my opinion :)

I've been looking at stt pros recently Stu, would you say they're quieter than the bfg ATs that you had on before, and were the ATs also 265's?

How much did they he end? They're a pretty good deal from most resellers I've found so far...

Bfg's were 265/70/16 so I have increased the wall size slightly.

Was hard to compare noise as i had tyres on the roof too....and they just need to bed in but i would think so far they are not a lot if anything more noisy than the bfg'd i had fitted, and certainly a lot quieter than other mud tyres i have seen.

In the end was just under £490 fitted, which I was very happy with :)

Fitted the STT pro's on my 90 last February, good in the claggy stuff, but very impressed with them on the road for handling and grip, but most of all they are noticeably quieter than BFG AT's

Sounds promising, but to be honest, even if they are the same noise level or slightly higher than the bfg a/t's that would be brilliant, as I bought them thinking they would be noisier given they are mud treads.

Hey StuRox,

Sorry to butt in on your thread, I'm looking for new boots with the black modulars you have. Recommend the stt for everyday use or shall I stick to the discovery AT3s for mine?

cheers
Coops

So far I am happy with the STT pro's as nice and quiet and seem to have good road manners, but only had them fitted for 2 days, so not much mileage and none off road, but first impressions are good.
