A year or so ago my heater blower stopped working. The recirculation button wasn't working so I assumed it was the relay in the footwell and a year later I got round to replacing it.

To test it was the relay, I swapped it with the electectric window relay and all worked well. I bench tested the old one to confirm it was dead. I ran the blowers for about an hour before putting the relay back for the windows and nipping to the shops to buy another relay.

Windows were working fine until I put the new relay into the blower socket. Now, neither the Windows or the blower work. I have removed the relays and 12v tested then and they both click and both are showing 0.1 resistance between 87 and 30 when open..

So what's at play here? Is there something linking these two? I've checked both fuses on blower and fuse for windows. Everything else seems to be working.

Cheers

To add more.

I have since checked the voltage for the relay sockets with the ignition on and no voltage is getting to the relay for both the windows and the blower. This narrows the problem down to something in between the ignition and the two relays. I don't know where to check from here. I checked the 3rd green relay in the footwell, not sure what it'a for, but it works fine.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers

I assume you model of D1 is pre 1995MY, as the later models electric windows don't have relays, so as u have two unrelated circuits malfunctioning is it not possible that you have an issue with the fusible links that are buried in the loom near the vehicle battery.
You could check that the supply is leaving the ignition switch.

It is. '94 300. I'll check power is leaving the ignition. I also want to check those sockets again. Do you know if there is much between the ignition and these relays?
