Goosey's Disco

Hey guys,
I got my 1995 Discovery a couple of days ago and i'm loving it, very nice car on the road after my old car ('74 Series III). I've got some plans to make it as capable off road as possible whilst also serving as my daily driver. Plans over the next few weeks/months are as follows:
- 33" Mud Tyres
- Flexi Flares
- 3" lift
- Long Travel Shocks
- Dislocation cones (for lots and lots of flex)
- Sway Bar Disconnects
- Snorkel
- Winch Bar
- Winch
- H/D Rear Bar with wheel carrier
- Dual Batteries
- Roof Rack with light bar
- Extended Brake Hoses
A ball load of other things...
The truck is completely standard at the moment with no rust and mechanically sound I'll post plenty of pictures with my upgrades as I go with as much information as I can provide. Super keen to get this done and get it out on the tracks...

Haha cheers mate, yeah I moved over to Aus about 9 years ago. Need a good, capable Disco to drive all the good tracks here. Battery knackered itself this morning so i'll be replacing that today and then looking to extend my diff and transmission breathers and then install my UHF. I can't decide if I want to mount it on top of the dash or on the roof. Only thing is with putting it on the roof is tracking it along the roof lining which I really don't want to pull out... But that's the basic plan for today.

Should be a sweet build but you'll better get on with it before it rusts!!

Dislocation cones don't give you loads of flex they simply relocate the springs when they pop out

Oh and 33s are for girls.

Yes M8 watch for rust, mine used to have more rust than the Titanic!!! If it passes MoT this time it's gonna get sold and a newer Defender sought.

With 5" shocks on a 3" lift they'll give me plenty of drop out, i've got a mate with the same kinda setup and it moves incredibly. Was thinking of going 35's but for everyday driving they might be a bit of a cop magnet. Don't want transport getting me...

Had a day off work today so me and my girl headed down the beach for the day. After the mad storms we've had there was plenty of rocks exposed but the Disco walked straight over them Only managed to snap one photo as I was having too much fun playing on the rocks. Shame that the weather was crappy.

After a bit of downtime i've finally been able to start on the Disco again Sadly the head gasket blew a few days ago so she's in at the shop getting fixed and when it comes back I got some new toys to go in.
- Dobinson's +3" Flexi Coils
- Extended braided brake hoses
- Terrafirma +5" Extreme Long Travel Shocks
- Adjustable Panhard
- Rear shock mounts (to suit pin instead of eye on shock)
- Terrafirma Flexi Flares
Just gotta figure out how to get the extended coils in with limited tools. Anyone got any advice? I'll get pictures of the process and post em up as I go.

Springs and dampers are easy to fit.spanners,a socket set and some stillsons. Get a deasent trolly jack and jack the chassis as high as you can and then get the land rover bottle jack in between the axle and chassis and pump until you have the space

You will find you need cranked rear arms to cope with the extra travel of the +5 shocks, especially if you want to keep your bushes in one piece!!

After a 2 day mechanic job ended up taking a week I finally get the Disco back tomorrow and the fun begins I must say, i'm missing it quite a lot. The fact i've been driving a jeep whilst its gone only makes me want it back more
