tis for over volting yam winch innit.

Its a solenoid pack that turns your 2 batteries from parallel to series to give you 24v.

It makes a huge difference espeshially in comps but if your not competing then standard 12volts will be fine. not sure what difference it will make on a TDS.
The reason for doing 24volt through 12volt motors is to get the rpms/power up, the motor doesnt bog down half as much, also the bowmotors seem to be one of a few motors that can hack the repeated abuse. Xxp's are too tempermental and not up to it. Bowmotors are made so they can handle the extra voltage with out anything melting - XP motors have been known to burn out and melt the internals. The 24 volt boost is only for reeving the rope in and out. Its not for pulling. Any wire load must be done on 12 volt,http://www.dborc.co.uk/goodwinch/pdf/afastfuture.pdf
The alternator doesn't charging the batteries while in turbo mode. One problem with long or heavy pulls is that it would flatten the batteries rather quickly.

yu need a double throw, double pole 200Amp Relay - circuit is easy.

Wlm are you wanting to over volt the 8274?

Tried mine out last unsay fir the 1st time, well impressed to say the least.

How much of an increase in line speed on a unloaded line just spooling the rope on?

Mine will take 25m in 55 sec, will making it 24v for a short time make it 27.5sec?

i wouldn't have thought so. Doubling the voltage wont double the speed. Also i would have thought that it will pull down both batteries quite quickly under heavier winching.

you might end up with 20v not 24v after a minute or so.

I wasn't Planing on, just intrested like to know things, I have a super winch ep9 motor on mine.
