Its a 2004 1.8. Just a bit worried about all the talk on the head gasket!! Should I be worried??

Suppose being a woman makes me paranoid!! Don't want to hate it before I Get. So looking forward to it ;-).

check underneath to make sure it was a propshaft all the way from the front to the back and insist on a LONG warranty.
If it doesnt have either then walk.

Thank you for your help. Gosh what to do??? Will see what they have to say at 16.00 hrs when I go to pick it up. Will let you know.

Yup ... the propshaft issue is very important and if it's not all there it will have been removed to cover up a very expensive fault! Also see if there is any trace of a HGF being repaired in the service history ... good luck

Well Chaps, the gasket has been replaced and the cam belt. It has propshaft from front to back so I got it !!! I love it

Thanks everyone for your warm welcome. Still grinning like a cheshire cat at the moment. Love it!! I know that I'll want another one when the time comes, think I'm converted

Just keep a close eye on your coolant level and you'll be just fine. Happy mud plugging.
