Going back to 16"s from 18"s

Anybody gone back to 16" wheels mainly because of comfort and optimum ride? If so, is there a noticable difference with the extra rubber?

Keep seeing good 16" sets going on ebay for not much money and new tyres for that size appear to be cheaper. I still want them to look good of course so with an aggressive tread pattern i'm thinking they would probably be as nice as good as 18" hurricanes i have on now but the ride would be better!

Any opinions appreciated..

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc.
16" & 18" both offered as new. Both work well. Maybe 18" a little better on road, stiffer side walls. Maybe 16" a little better off, better bump absorption. Most people, in most cases, wouldn`t notice much difference between the two IF they`re properly inflated for their use at the time: softer off-road, harder on-road. I`m sure others will disagree however.

I have run 16 18 and 19s and there is very little difference what did make a difference was replacing the bushes air bags and shocks I went back to standard all round and got to say it is good

Thanks for replies......i have got new bags and shocks all round plus anti roll bar bushes, steering damper and i'm hoping the tyres will be the final piece in the jigsaw, i will be doing some pay and play type off roading so maybe 16s are the best option.

What other bushes are worth changing?

all of them panhards go quite quickly but do the radius arms

16's were most common standard fitment and generally best "all-rounder".....as said, adjust pressures accordingly for road/off-road use. Usually better prices on tyres for 16's too!
