i rolled her, was towing a trailer and tyre went bang on the trailer was only doing 30 mph trailer threw me all over the road as i was going round a corner and boom over she goes, worst day of my life only a few months after i completed a rolling restoration of the old girl i cant wait to rip her apart and put a proper rear body on her

i cant wait to roll the series :) , nah i think i will be keeping it pretty un modified then, just some lights , dont want a saxo or pug, i want to be able to drive over them !

My landys going to be my first car. I got it off my granddad. It's got a new build chassis on it, parabolics and a 2.5. What I'm planning on doing is doing it so it likes a one off that the factories done for someone (i.e. standard with some improvements).

Gutted. Was there anything on the trailer?
about 1.75 tons of stones was a big mess, trailer flew off and imbedded itself and i went through the windscreen and the polish police were amazed to find that i drove home with a huge concussion seeing stars and i have a land rover that was given to me by my grandad every time i drive her its special and how old are you sam as im 20 and when i took my insurance out i was 19 1 years ncb and it was 900 quid fully comp with 1 month uk driving 11 months EU driving with full european breakdown cover she is not insured these days but still has tax and she only goes on the road 200 meters then up i the forest off to work

thats exactly what my 2a was before i rolled her the underneath, engine was all black and red (axle black diff red steering arms red etc) and i had parabolic springs, procomp es3000s, checker plate wing tops, and a kick ass stero that could be taken out without ever knowing i put it there and a stainless steel exhaust with tubular manifold other than that she was completly standard

Its not a td, but a normally aspirated 2.5 from a 90. I'm waiting to get it done before finding insurance but I have been looking around.

if i was you get a mini a classic mini for around 1000 pounds and be done with 1st years insurance will be about 600 quid 3rd party fire and theft, teach yourself to drive before going straight out on the road in a land rover series mate trust me i have been driving series land rovers since i was 8 so i thought i knew what to expect but only experiance tells you about the black man in brixton in his bmw and its not you its everyone else on the road and learn your motor as well as they have a charchter mine used to play up when we got to brixton and millwall then it would be fine in the next borough

The landys the best car for what i want to do as I want to use it as a van for taking my fishing stuff. I have actually driven my land rover when my granddad used to have it round cymyran beach and along the breakwater.

Ring round, in the end I got it down from over a grand to under £200, a little over after upgrading the engine, it's with Adrian Flux on classic insurance. Limited mileage though but if you can afford to do more than 6000 miles in a Landy in a year you can afford the expensive insurance!

about a year or 2 to late for this. i got a mini for my first car in september 2010 500quid first year car 1850quid. second year 750.

youd be lucky to get a sub 1500 quote for a first year and the same to find a taxed and tested mini sub 1750.

Hi as suggested by the title, most series fans like keeping them original, but at 17, i dont ! got a series 3 88 just put a 2.5td into it, and a bonus insurance is only £2700 hm cheap !
back to the point, so id ont roll the thing, and to make it "cool" i want the tyres out the arches ! i know one way of acheiving this is to get spacers but are there any rims where the hub is further in ? also the bfg's iv got will catch the wheel arch, how do i cut them and what shape ? i dont want mud guards as they look stuuupid !
any ideas would be really usefull cheers

I'm sorry but if you're classing £2700 as cheap to insure you are either extremely stupid or rather spoilt/rich

As to defiling a series well thats another matter, you should be shot.

I think mine would be put on limited mileage as I'd use it for going to college once a week and carting my fishing gear around. It'd probably come to about sub 4000 miles. It used to be covered by Adrian Flux when my granddad had it so I'll look to get a quote off them.

My 1985 90 is insured as a classic car, ok, I'm 30, but it's only £90 fully comp with a 4000 mile limit. Try compare the market or confused.com a load of them have classic car sections...
