Evening all,

Not posted for a while on the grounds that nothing has gone wrong!!

Anyway, I've been thinking about replacing the glow plugs on the P38. Just had a quick glance on Rave and it advises removing the injector high pressure pipe assembly before doing so. Is this really the case or is there a cheat?

regards

Dave

Is that really a good enough excuse for being AWOL????

You can do it apparently without removing the injection pipe, just a bit fiddly I believe...I could be wrong as I have never done it myself - but I am asure I read somewhere there is no need to remove...

You only need to remove the inlet manifold, did it on friday.

You will need some extensions and a couple of spanners but its easy enough, budget a couple of hours and a small amount of skin.

Oh and when refitting, if you have ring connectors on the glow leads, have some masking tape to hold the nut in the tool for refitting...

HI

Done mine about two months ago what ever you do buy decent glow plug I learnt the hard way no need to remove high pressure pipes when refitting the wire used a pair of pliers to put wire on and dipped the socket in a little grease to hold the nut in place in the end of the socket while putting it on the end of the glow plug
