went to work this morning 430:mad: no glow plug light hopeing its just the bulb gone like i asked in my first thread if it is bulb whats it like to change ???

Are you sure its the bulb, your pre-heating system my not be working and you won't know in this weather because you won't need it.
To test it:
Connect a voltmeter between the glow plug supply cable and a good earth point on the engine.
Activate the pre-heating system and check there is a supply, it will drop to zero when the pre-heating stops.

cheers for all the info howardo not very clever when it comes to electrikery its wichcraft but will try to have a look .were roughly on the car is the fuse you mentioned

The main fuse box is in the drivers side glove box, There is also a fuse box in the engine on the right hand side near the jack.
A label identifying each fuse should be on the lids.

Just been out to check mine, standing for 42 hrs. The light didn't come on.
Last chilly morning we had, heater plugs worked.

just had a look no fuse for heater plugs inside the car looked under bonnet there is one but its not your normal spade type and its 100 amp .davec did your light not come on at all thought it should come on for a couple of secs with the rest of the lights?????

Just bin for a run in mine to get some cider, baking hot day and glow plug light came on each time I started it.

The fuse should be 70A I think, on the L-series anyway. If yours is a td4 then will be different.

ive had the car from 6 months old its a 03 td4 not been near the under bonnet fuse box till today so i think its genuine:confused:

Have you checked to see if the pre-heat system is working?
I have an l-series so maybe on a td4 the bulb will not come on on a warm day like previously stated by cerenko.
All diesels i have owned the glow plug light has always come on.
