So many reports recently of peoples pride and joy being taken away by thieving scum, I am thinking of fitting a tracker onto mine.
I know his has been done to death, and I know they are not foolproof, but I want to get the best I can for the money and add any layer of security which I can.
I was locking at the streetwize unit which can be bought from EuroCarParts for £46.49. I am sure there are many technical discussions on different units, but I wondered if anyone has used this unit or something similar which they are very happy with.
As I said just looking to get the best bang for my buck in this dangerous world.

Ask your insurance company before you buy anything.

I agree with that but I found most insurance companies only recognize an approved tracking system with an annual contract, bit like home burglar alarms, if they are not approved they treat them as non existent.
I looked at these and I found they are expensive, fine if you have a £80,000 Range rover or similar.
I was looking just to add in an extra layer of security at a low cost, hopefully giving me a shot at telling the police where the vehicle is or where its headed in the event it was taken.
Like most Locks, Alarms, security devices if you get determined professional scum bags then they will overcome them, but best to do what you can to make it awkward for them
