hi all

ive had problems with a resently bought series 3 project. i have found the problem of the injector pump being shot, so i bought another one on ebay and that now pumps fuel. but what beats me is that the engine stutters and coughs but it refuses to run. i thought that the timing might be out but its not because i have tried it with every little bit of movement on the studs. anyone know what the problem is or any suggestions.

thanks

have you got rid of all the air locks by bleeding the fuel at the sedimentor and from the two small screws on the pump,

if the timing is a bit off it will be difficult to start

is the shut off lever on the pump in correct position

have you checked the injector spray pattern

is compression ok

yes theres compression and the engine is getting everything it needs at the right time. i have no clue!!it just wont run. if you can help it would be very useful.the engine stutters and weve tried jump starting it and looking at the exhaust it looked like it was running while jump starting but its not but its very close. it just refuses to run at the moment that it sounds like its about to go. can you help???
