Has anyone changed the seal in the actual tube that the slave sits on please?

The whole tube and seal is a crazy £130 from LR and around £70 from elsewhere. The seal looks to be replaceable but does anyone have the size??
FL1 Td4.
Strangley the same seal and tube for a Rover 75 is £30. This has a Getrag 283 box. Wonder if the shaft is the same size?

Thanks.

I'm not sure the 75 has a Getrag box Andy, but could be wrong, as I never had much to do with them.
But no I've not changed the input shaft seal on the TD4 box. I've done it on the PG1, albeit a decade or more ago now.

Thanks, for the PG1 you can buy the seal. For the Getrag you have to buy the tube that the slave sits on and the seal is with it already fitted.

Will probs measure the old one and try to find a replacement.

My Haynes for a 75 shows a Getrag 283 fitted. Interestingly to 1.8, 2.0 and 2.5.

I use the manual for the V6 info.

I'm sure @Alibro has had his off, when working on the EV conversion. Maybe he measured his, although if it wasn't leaking, he wouldn't need to change it.

That's what I would do. ;)

Nodge is right about me taking the tube off and I probably measured it at the time but I don't remember what it measured to and it's back in the car so it could be a while (hopefully) before I need to take it out again.
